Welcome home Daddy

by adam poort

So after 3 days of "work" at a sales conference with 500 of his closest friends, Daddy climbed aboard the 4am bus to catch a 6am flight home from San Diego so that he could make it home just in time for a Poort family brunch and baseball game to celebrate... some birthdays... it's getting hard to keep track. Daddy is already running on fumes, and in his weakened emotional state, he almost loses it when he come home to this...
Grandma and Grandpa have some of the happiest grandchildren in the world, just not all at the same time...
After brunch, we head to the ballpark for Kid's Appreciation day at Safeco. Cheap and confused Daddy decided we'd park at Starbucks and hoof it. Lucy enjoyed riding on Daddy's back, Yoda-Jedi-Master-style. And Daddy is wishing he could cut open a Ton-Ton with a light sabre and crawl inside for a nap... It looks closer than it really is, I think we're still .9 kilometers away... I think Lucy's Felix Hernandez jersey will fit by the time the Mariners get good again...
Early inning...
Later inning...
This is seconds before Gus learns the physics of the folding stadium chair...
Sometimes the stars align and nobody's happy, time to go home for a team nap...
