We had a fabulous time in Louisiana for Dave & Colleen's wedding (sans Lucy, who stayed with
Gumba & Grandpa) with some of our good friends and some new ones! It was a wild weekend split between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, so I had to edit out select photos for the integrity of my daughter's blog...:)
Introducing the couples...
Adam & Melissa
in our best prom pose...

John & Kelly (aka "Don" & "Keely" as Lucy calls them)
also in prom form...

Jen & Chris...

Susie & Graham...

Heidi & Aaron (
fyi - Lucy thought this was Jodi "
dodi" when I showed her the pics)...

Erik & Abbe...wait where is
Tolzmann?

The only photo I have of Abbe and Erik is the one of them pouring over gossip mags...

And of course, the happy couple Dave & Colleen...

So, the first night was spent in New Orleans surrounded by more
daiquiri bars, bead shops, & strip bars than I have ever seen on one street (sorry, didn't have my camera - actually probably a good thing). The next day we ate our way through New Orleans with beignets, chicory coffee, muffalatta sandwiches, & amazing burgers.
The ladies kept it mostly classy...

With a few exceptions, so did they guys...

We then piled into a 11 passenger van with 12 of us and drove 1 1/2 hours to Baton Rouge in time for the rehearsal. Saturday, we laid out in the sun and rang up a tab in the hotel bar before the wedding...

Unfortunately, our shuttle never came to pick us up, so we jumped back in our short bus for the drive to the plantation...

The wedding took place at this gorgeous plantation called the
Houmas House...

It had lots of cool areas that were designed I guess before 6'5" men existed...

After the ceremony, we mingled outside with the mosquitoes....
(well, actually we technically ended the night with a 2am pizza run, but the sparklers sound more romantic)...
